James Luedde, Winner of the 2013 Creative Loafing Visions Photo CompetitionI was recently honored, humbled and motivated by some news that one of my photos was selected as the winner of the 2013 Creative Loafing Visions Photo Competition. This was the first time I took time to submit photos to a major competition and I am pleased at the outcome. What really pleased me most was that the photo selected as the winner was a photograph I took for no one else other than myself. I simply captured my own selfish feelings when I saw this "B-Boy" breaking it down on the bricks of Ybor City in Tampa, FL. . The photo represented a lot of what I recall growing up. It also captured some significant icons of my city. At the time I had no idea that the combination of the two would ultimately lend some kudos to my portfolio. The photo and all the other great photos that made the list of finalists are currently on display at the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts in Tampa. Be sure to check it out!
